I should be working.....

Well I have read your demands for a new entry so here it is. I am ignoring the 1,000 things that I should do because I must fulfill the needs of my public. (Man I don't know how famous people actually believe stuff like that). Well let's see.......Watched the spelling bee last night. It was like watching the NBA of spelling. For those of you who have read my blog you know that I can not spell. I hav nevr ben abl 2 spel. It iss sumting I relly struglle wth.(hahahahaha) But these kids knew who to spell words in German, French and some words they claim were English but I have never even heard of. It was amazing. So girl from NJ won the whole thing she spelled a couple of words at the end that I think they just slammed some letters together and then made up a definition for. I think that is how they do it because one of the judges is a priest and I guess after they lie and tell the kids it is actually a word they can lean over and confess. If I thought that is how it works I would have priest follow me around at work and everytime I want to strangle one of employees I would just confess my awful thoughts and move on.

The first week of summer vacation is here and so far Kristena has not lost her mind with both kids home. I would say it has gone as good as you could have expected it to. She has taken them to Y a couple of days and we have gone in the evenings a couple of times. Kaitlyn has a great flair for the dramatic and everything she does not want to do turns into her flinging herself down to the ground or her crossing her arms and saying "fine" and storming out of the room. But that has only happened a couple of times and the rest of the time she is creating. Like this last weekend was Kristena's birthday and she and I made Kristena a cake. We even decorated it. Kaitlyn and I decided to make it a quilted pattern like some of Kristena's scrapbook paper. It is a good thing she loved the effort because let's just say I am not ready for Food TV quite yet. Tyler on the other hand is a parrot. Whatever Kaitlyn or his favorite show on TV says he repeats. Yesterday Kristena had him wash his hands and when he gets done washing them he likes to shake them dry(probably because we told him not to) however yesterday he got down on all fours and shook like a dog. When Kristena asked what he was doing he said " I shake like puppy". We don't have a dog so where he saw it I am not quite sure but hey it was really cute.

We went to an ABS class last night at the "Y". I figured I have an enourmous ABS section so I thought it would be a class I could excell in. What I found is this should be the miltary's new way of getting prisoners to talk. They make you work and man today it hurts to take deep breath. I went to cough this morning and thought that I pulled my belly button. (Not sure what that really means but I am pretty sure I have the worlds largest belly button Tyler can park three match box cars in there and still have room for all of the lint!) Anyway all of that was said to say I am trying to do my part to support my mom so I am dieting down here.(mainly I am doing so that I can not get rolled back in the ocean when we go to the beach. The constant yells to call animal rescue and keep his blow hole moist are quite embarrasing). So far I have lost 15 lbs which is like saying a carried a spoonful of sand off of the beach. Just 120 more and I will look just like picture my cousin Kelley posted on her blog of Tim Mcgraw except I have more hair and less money.

I turned 34 this month. It hit me today when I went to entered my age on the treadmill at the gym that I am firmly in my mid-30's. I know some of you out there are older (mom, marsha, kelley, sue, bev, grandma, grandpa actually I am younger than most of you) and you probably think that 34 is young. But as I have stated in previous posts getting older ain't easy so here are some things that I am learning as I get older:

1) As you get older you find the urge to pick and examine everything your body creates. If you don't know what I mean come over to my mom's house right after she gets up and watch her pick her eyes open. I swear one morning she pulled something out that was big enough for the kids to roll up and play catch with. I understand that the body creates things as we get older that must be removed but maybe we don't need to play with it like it is a pet. My favorite is to sit at the cracker barrell and watch the old men sit around and pick their ear wax out with their car keys. The stick their key in far enough to itch their brain and then pull it out look at it from every angle occasionally give it a sniff then wipe it on their pants. Who said getting older ain't graceful.

2) You forget what you are doing. Several times over the last couple weeks I have started doing something and got distracted(maybe by a shiny ball or one of the kids) and never got back to doing. This can wear on your mate. Several times over the last couple weeks I will get gas for the cars stop at the store and forget to give the receipts to Kristena. She keeps track of all of our money as I often forgot to balance my checkbook and would forget you had to have money in your account in order to write checks. Like now I was doing something else and then opened my blog and oddly enough here I am. Most of the time this habit manifests itself in me walking around with my zipper down because as I was getting dressed something happened and boom forgot to lock the horse in the barn.

3) Finally, and I think this is just in my family. I will be talking and just stop. Mid-sentence mid thought just stopped. It is like my brain just quit telling my mouth to move. The worst part is that I usually don't know it happened. It is quite annoying to the listener. So if I am talking to you and all of the sudden I............

Well gotta get back to work. It is one of those days where I spin the wheel and decide what project to work on. Today it is the contract with our attorney network. I get to boss around a bunch of attorney's who are all millionaires and here I am telling them what they can and cannot do. Only in America. We are off to Texas next week for a conference and a chance to see Kristena's grandparents who we have not seen for a couple of years. Kristena's grandmother is the one who got her started couponing and when they get on the phone the talk for a couple of hours about just about everything. It is good that we all have been blessed to have our grandparents around for a large part of our lives. So if you can give your grandparents a hug or a call today or tonight. So grandma and grandpa I love you and I will call tonight really I will.

Well, Son, I just thought I would check to see if any of you bloggers had written anything new. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to see a new one from you.

So I too put my work aside and sat back to read the latest and found myself laughing and chuckling out loud. At first I worried what people would think and then I remembered where I work!!

This was one of your finest...

Love, Mom

You absolutely crack me up! I hate it when you don't post for long time. I need the laughs to come a little closer together. Please work on that! ;) Love ya!

You are a dork. Samuel kept asking what I was laughing at. You need to get out more.

I love the pictures of the kids that you sent to me, thank you. Also thank Kristena for the coupons. She needs to start a blog to document to all of us the deal of the week and how we can get it.

OK. #3 is TOTALLY a family trait. I thought it was just my husband. He does it all the time and it absolutely makes me insane! Glad to hear it's genetic!
